How do you monitor AI agent transactions in real time?
Stream every agent payment event, from proposal and policy decision to result, into a monitoring system as it happens, with the agent, user, amount, payee and reason attached. Track spend against budgets, alert on anomalies such as new payees or spikes, and give operators a way to pause an agent immediately.

What should an AI agent transaction receipt include?
The agent and user, the amount, currency and payee, what was bought, the time, the authorization or mandate it relied on, the policy decision that allowed it, and a settlement reference such as a transaction hash or card authorization code. A signed receipt lets anyone verify it later.

How do you see why an AI agent payment was denied?
Return the reason with every denial and log it: which rule failed, the value that broke it and the policy version. Show it to operators in the payment record, and give the agent a machine-readable error, for example in Problem Details format, so it can explain the denial to the user or request approval.

How do you reconcile payments made by many AI agents?
Tag every payment with its agent, user, task and cost center when it is made, collect settlement records from each rail, such as card reports, processor payouts and onchain transactions, and match them to those tags and to invoices. Send unmatched items to a person for review.

How do you attribute agent spend to users, teams or cost centers?
Attach attribution when the payment is created: the agent's ID, the user or team it acts for, the cost center and the task. Issue separate agent credentials or wallets per team where possible, so attribution does not depend on parsing descriptions, and report spend against each team's budget.

How do you export AI agent payment logs for audit?
Export from your system of record, not the agent: complete, time-stamped entries with the authorization, policy decision and settlement reference for each payment, in a standard format such as CSV or JSON, with a hash or signature so auditors can confirm nothing was changed. Keep exports for your retention period.

How do you alert on unusual AI agent spending?
Alert on deviations from each agent's baseline: amounts above its usual range, new payees, bursts of payments, repeated policy denials and payments just under limits. Route high-severity alerts to someone who can pause the agent, and review false alarms to tune thresholds over time.

What metrics matter for an AI payment agent in production?
Payment and task success rates, policy denial rates and reasons, spend against budget, average and largest payment size, time to complete tasks, error and retry rates, disputes and refunds, and how often humans have to step in. Trends matter more than single values, so track them over time.

How do you roll back an AI agent's policy change?
Keep every policy version, so rolling back means reactivating the previous version instead of editing rules by hand. Record who changed what and when, test changes before they go live, and make sure payments already made stay linked to the version that approved them.

How do you version AI agent spending policies?
Treat each policy as an immutable, numbered version: a change creates a new version with its author, time and reason, approved before activation. Every payment records the version it was checked against, so audits and disputes use the rules that applied at that moment.

How do you reconcile agent receipts with bank statements?
Match each agent receipt to a bank or card statement line by amount, date, payee and reference. For card payments, use the authorization code or network reference; for stablecoins converted by a processor, match the processor's payout to the batch of receipts. Investigate differences such as fees or currency conversion.

How do you give finance teams visibility into agent spend?
Give finance a read-only view of all agent spend, with each payment tied to an agent, user, cost center and approval, alongside budgets, remaining limits and exceptions. Feed agent transactions into the accounting system like other payments, and send regular summaries of spend and policy denials.
